Early Alpha Day 4: The following is brought to you by the crew of Sao Jorge

By wpdev June 11, 2014

This morning,
on a bright and sunny day,
we woke up
and ate breakfast at Trellis Bay!

Some people went diving, while the others stayed on the boat and went on a snorkel trash cleanup around the bay. DSCF2466

Upon the return of the divers, we set sail for Diamond Cay. We were the first boat to set sail and it was a great feeling! As we became more confident in our abilities, we flaunted a “wing-on-wing” sail pattern!

We successfully moored up at Diamond Cay on the incredible island of Jost Van Dyke and had some well-deserved relaxation time while waiting for the other boats to join us. After dinner, we received a cool marine biology lesson on coral reefs and bioluminescence.

We then jumped in the water for a night snorkel, which was scary and awesome all at the same time! Now it is time for bed after taking some bucket showers off the back of our boat.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
