Follow Our Journey! Bravo, Charlie, Foxtrot, & Sierra 2- Day 15

Challenge day update!! The Mile Hi counselors were woken up to their replacement counselors for the day. For challenge day, all the students on Mile Hi became in charge of their own vessel with little to no staff assistance…but before that…turtle tagging!

The Sierra and Foxtrot students gathered for a quick lesson on safely tagging sea turtles with lots of enthusiasm to get in the water and get after it. The odds were promising having seen four turtles off the side of the boat but unfortunately, we were unable to catch a turtle, not for lack of effort by India and Jackie!

After all the turtlers returned to their boats we were underway for challenge day! There were initially some complications raising sails but soon we were on our way back from Anegada. Our Skipper of the day, Anthony, was amazing at the helm directing his mate Jordan to trim and control our sails.

We all started getting excited when our final destination for the night came into view. Sidney’s on Jost Van Dyke is always a favorite for both the staff and kids. So, when Bennet was finally done brushing his hair…we were on our way!

I am currently writing you from the dance party where Andrew is crowd surfing!? I have to go; I just got called back to the dance floor!

Much love,

Mile Hi

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
