Ahoy from Mile Hi!

Today was Christmas in July down here in the Caribbean. We woke up to a beautiful morning and made some French toast with extra cinnamon. We had a surprise from Apres Sail, another boat on our fleet. They left us a Christmas in July letter wishing us a good day!

It was a chill morning in Saavana Bay with a boat-bonding snorkel and some water sporting. Our campers were very excited to go tubing! We played some Christmas music and made Secret Santa pairings for later that day!

We made some tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch and then did our PDCs (pre-departure checks) before leaving for Marina Cay. To leave, we first had to up-anchor which, thanks to our amazing crew, went on without a hitch! Our sail today was downwind, so we got to do a couple of jibes.

After arriving at Marina Cay and dropping our sails, we picked up a mooring ball and got ready to go to shore! On shore, we got some virgin drinks and had some beach time! Returning to our boat, we got ready for shower party and dinner prep.

It was a chill night with some amazing chicken and potatoes for dinner!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
