Follow Our Journey! Alpha & Tango – Day 6
Written by Hannah C., a Mate on Betty’s Dream
Greetings from Sail Caribbean! Today was an exciting day filled with sunshine, laughter, and lots of adventure. We kicked off the morning with a delicious breakfast buffet that gave everyone the energy they needed for the day ahead. Our plan was to sail from the village to the bight, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for it. With little whispering winds, the campers took the helm and sailed beautifully all by themselves!
Our Skipper of the Day, Andrew, led the way with confidence and skill. Jojo, our Navigator of the Day, ensured we stayed on course, while Sarah, our Mate of the Day, kept the crew motivated and organized. It was a true team effort!
The day was packed with thrilling activities. Campers enjoyed a variety of watersports, from paddleboarding to tubing. We also had a fun boat swap, allowing everyone to experience different vessels. For those interested in diving, we offered a Discover Scuba Diving session, which was a huge hit. Andrew mentioned that being the skipper was his favorite part of the day, and the group on Betty’s Dream had an unforgettable time exploring the underwater world.
Dinner was a collaborative effort with the group cooking delicious stuffed bell peppers, and it was a hit among everyone. In the evening, we gathered for a boat meeting where we shared stories, learned new sailing techniques, and planned for tomorrow’s events.
The crew is buzzing with excitement for the upcoming camp Olympics, where they’ll put their skills and teamwork to the test. It’s been a day full of learning, bonding, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Stay tuned for more updates as our adventure continues!
