We started our day bright and early at Scrub Island Resort, excited to see that the storms from the previous night had passed. After filling our water tanks for the final time of the program we embarked on our long sail to Jost Van Dyke!

We had a beautiful upwind sail in the breezy conditions and loved taking photos on Vada’s camera!

As we were approaching our destination, Leverick Bay, we dropped our sails and began to enter the North Sound. While preparing to grab a mooring ball, our dance music party was suddenly interrupted by a sheet of rain heading towards our boat. We embraced the downpour and successfully picked up the mooring ball in some of the heaviest rain we have seen all trip! Nearby boats cheered at our success and we ran inside to celebrate with Sail Caribbean’s famous shark dip and grilled cheese for lunch. As we warmed up and let the squall pass, we played endless games of uno and worked on our friendship bracelets.

In the afternoon, we headed to shore where we enjoyed shopping at the Arawak, a local boutique, shopping at the grocery store, and hanging out by the pool! On the water, we tested our wakeboarding skills in a competition!

The evening featured a boat playdate with our friends on Jackalope and Betty’s Dream. We had a dance party while we watched the lightening storm pass us. Before bed we snacked on some Chips Ahoy while Tessa taught our group a new card game!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
