As the sun rose over Nanny Kay, we made breakfast and said goodbye to divers and those going on the Colgate as they were taking a truck to Hodges Creek Marina that is on the same island. Those staying at Nanny Kay took part in shore rotations which consisted of going to the grocery store, the boutique, the beach, and cafe. The kids all got a soda and were so excited!

Then, it was time to de-dock from Nanny and head over to the Bight on Norman Island. The Bight is a fan favorite as it is a little protected cove that always has a good view of the sunset. It is also great because it has a small hike that we love to take that starts behind the small restaurant on shore and goes up to an unused helipad. Up at the helipad, we like to play some games that bring the campers together; like, Birdy on a Perch, Where the Wind Blows, and Captain’s Coming.

Later on in the day, we got to do some water sports! The kids loved showing off their skills on the kneeboard and waterskis while others got up on them for the first time. Chester even did a 360 turn on the kneeboard! After a day of sailing, hiking, and skiing, the kids were ready for a big Sloppy Joe’s dinner. After dinner they had a quick boat meeting and then fell fast to sleep.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
