Hi from Trellis Bay!

This morning, we woke up on our mooring ball at Little Harbour on Jost Van Dyke. The crew slept exceptionally well after an on-shore dinner and dance party last night! After having strawberry oatmeal bowls and prepping the boat to depart, Ava took the helm, and we set off for Beef Island.

It was an eventful sail, as it started with passing through a squall off of the north side of Tortola! Most of the group stayed dry in the salon, but Tessa and Betts were resolute in their decision to weather the heavy rains at the helm with our trusty skipper! Soon enough, we cruised through the Trellis Bay channel on Beef Island and happily selected a spot among the other boats in the fleet.

After Brady hooked the mooring ball and AJ and Luigi tied some quick bowlines, we enjoyed sandwiches on board. Then, half the group headed off for diving and the rest went to shore. Hayley and Elise enjoyed their second DSD dive; Caroline went on her first post-certification fun dive; Nicky and Isabel enjoyed some delicious smoothies from a restaurant on shore; and AJ and Jack got some sweet souvenirs from a local artisan’s shop!

Afterward, the group spent quality time together by making friendship bracelets and having some chips and salsa before a pasta dinner. We look forward to tomorrow with your awesome kiddos (who, at this point, we are convinced are part fish). They are super excited for Father’s Day phone calls home and hope you are too!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
