Follow Our Journey! Alpha 4, Charlie, Foxtrot, & Sierra 3 – Day 3
Written by Nat P., Leadership Staff Member
Good Morning Sail Caribbean! It’s the first full day out on the water for the late fleet. Campers woke up on their new homes surrounded by their new friends eager for the day to come. They got ready for the day and some assumed their positions to prepare breakfast for the boat. They ate a delicious buffet for breakfast to make sure they were energized for the day ahead. Staff Boat gave everyone morning announcements to brief the activities of the day and formally introduce their radio names!
The crew then began to get ready to sail! They did their pre departure checks and made a de mooring plan and they were set to go! Campers worked together to get the sails up and sail to The Bight at Norman Island. Once they arrived, there was time for lunch and some swimmy fun time before the afternoon dive boat arrived. As it was their first experience on the dive boat, they got an introduction to Sail Caribbean Divers and their staff.
While those students continued their dive instruction, the other students were able to participate in colgate sailing, snorkeling, and watersports. They were also able to socialize with some of the campers on other boats. The fun continued once the divers returned when the shower party commenced with the background of a beautiful scenery and their favorite tunes. They were able to swim around and have a moment to chill before dinner prep began.
Everyone was ready for a nice meal as a boat to giggle about the events of the day. They then made sure the boat was spic and span before boat meeting! They reflected on the day filling out the ships log and got the outline for the schedule for tomorrow. After some chats and giggles it was time to power down and head to bed!
