Today was an exciting day! We all woke with the excitement of a docking at Scrub Island, a beautiful resort island. The Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers were off early to do some diving at Great Harbor first, and then at Dead Chest Island. A huge Congratulations to the Advanced Open Water students who finished their certifications!

While the divers were off learning new skills and exploring the reefs, the rest of the students had a great sail through the Sir Francis Drake Channel, around Tortola and over to Scrub Island. Once the boats were all docked, lunch was enjoyed and boats were cleaned for inspection. Everyone enjoyed having some phone time to check in with loved ones back home, but they were definitely more excited to jump on the water trampoline and swim in the pools. Also always a favorite while on docks is the opportunity for a freshwater, land shower.

One of the coolest things about Scrub is how clear the water is and how much sea life is drawn there and can be observed. A bunch of the students sat on the docks for a while after dinner, watching the tarpon swimming around and looking for the occasional shark or stingray to swim by. It was a quiet evening on board the boats after boat meeting and everyone was looking forward to sleep in the next morning.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
