Follow Our Journey! Bravo, Charlie, Foxtrot, & Sierra 1- Day 13
Written by Josie A., Social Media Coordinator
After such a fun night with the Fourth of July party last night, everyone was so excited to sail again together today! We had a little bit of a later wake-up time this morning because of our fun night, so crews were happy for the chance to sleep in a little bit. After a filling breakfast buffet, all crews started their PDCs, zipped up their life jackets, and prepared to drop the ball!
The fleet quickly dropped their respective balls and we were off to Great Harbour! Kackie, the skipper of the day on FLX, led the charge across the channel. She was steadfast in her position while a small squall brought rain down on our crews. So awesome! Once everyone was on the ball at Great Harbour, we all prepared an amazing lunch of pizza bagels, which was a camper favorite from the program so far!
Once everyone completed a quick lunch clean, swimmy fun time commenced. Some crews chose to go on a snorkel and saw the most beautiful reef in such clear, blue water! Also, some good-spirited prank wars started today between the boats, with an entire salon getting covered in tortillas! So funny!
After the elaborate pranking maneuvers, we started a dinner of pasta with carbonara. I had dinner on Apres Sail, and it was amazing! So many chefs on board! Once everyone had eaten, Charlie Students and Advanced Open Water candidates were picked up by the dive boat for the first-night dive of the program. Everyone was super excited and loved the opportunity to see so many sleeping sea creatures. Many campers’ favorite sights were the many sleeping sharks that they saw! How cute!
Everyone went back to boats quickly after the dive boat arrived. The end of another amazing day called for a PM boat meeting and a quick game of cards before we all powered down in anticipation of another awesome day tomorrow!
