After a night on the docks of Nanny Cay and some coveted, luxurious land showers, our crew woke up bright and early and set out for Pirate’s Bight! After doing all of our PDCs, pre-departure checks, the skipper of the day, Dasher, led us through a flawless de-docking with the help of the mate of the day, Emma. Then we were off to The Bight on Norman Island!

We enjoyed amazing weather as we set sail downwind towards our home for the night. Our afternoon started with a lunch of DIY pita pockets crafted by our world-renowned camper chefs.  After picking up our mooring ball at The Bight, some of our marine biology students went to the famous Soldier’s Bay to learn more about local turtles and the BVI Ark turtle tagging initiative! So cool!

The rest of us on board had a little bit of time after picking up the ball to eat some more snacks and grab a sweet treat or two! Satisfied with delicious food in our stomachs, we began an afternoon of swimmy fun time: featuring sailing in colgates, tubing, and some boat socials with other boats! Shower party included a selection of Taylor Swift, Zach Bryan, and Katy Perry with a little bit of karaoke thrown in!

The evening sky featured highlights of gold and orange and provided a gorgeous setting as we sat down for our baked potato bar dinner. Vibes were high after post-dinner cleaning as we prepared for trivia night! Lots of fun and silly questions on the history of the BVI and Caribbean, Sail Caribbean, staff, and best quotes of the program so far. Such a fun way to end Day 6!!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
