This morning, we awoke at Village Cay on Tortola and were able to sleep in until 8:15! The crew then prepared a breakfast of scrambled eggs, bagels, yogurts, and fresh fruits. After breakfast, everyone headed into Roadtown, the Heart of Tortola, for some infamous ice cream, time at the grocery store and a visit to the surf shop. The students thoroughly enjoyed some time on land and exploring Roadtown.

After a fun morning, everyone reconvened on boats for lunch preparation where sandwiches on fresh baguettes were consumed. This energized everyone for a de-docking lesson, a successful de-docking and an exceptional sail to Great Harbour on Peter Island.

Upon arrival at Great Harbour, the crew picked up a mooring ball and got ready to go turtling! We witnessed turtles for the first time on program and were able to enjoy a snorkel on the beautiful reef.

After a long afternoon in and on the water, the crew took part in a Sail Caribbean tradition: Chili Cookoff! The boats chose a theme, created a skit and most importantly, prepared some delicious chili for three special guest judges. After a fun dinner filled with laughs, everyone went to bed excited for a circumnavigation of Peter Island tomorrow!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
