Early Foxtrot & Early Sierra 2018 Adventures Day 11 – Learning More Fish Anatomy Through A Lion Fish Dissection

Today, we woke up early and motored to the Dog Islands where the divers were greeted by our dive boats and taken off on fun dives and everyone else snorkeled the incredible Dogs. The divers did two dives (at Ginger Steps and Carvel Rock) and were so excited to see sharks! The snorkelers wrapped up their snorkel and sailed on to Dead Man’s Cove where we met back up with the divers for lunch.

We anchored at Dead Man’s Cove and got in the water to snorkel around searching for turtles for a few hours. We again had no such luck spotting any but enjoyed snorkeling the beautiful blue bay. Later, our marine biologist, Keiley, led a dissection of a lion fish where we learned a lot about fish anatomy and the invasive species themselves.

After a delicious dinner and boat meeting, we went to bed a little earlier than usual to save energy for the day ahead – Race Day & Olympics! We have so much to look forward to with just two full days left on program!
