Today, Alpha fleet woke up to plate of french toast, some soft reggae and a rainstorm! Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, the crew dropped the mooring ball at Cooper Island and raised the main sail and jib with ease in 15-20 knot gusts. During the sail, campers were instructed on how to properly sail downwind, points of sail, and how to med-anchor!
Upon arrival to Little Harbour on Peter Island, the crew prepared a yummy and filling lunch of Greek pitas, stuffed with hummus, sandwich meats, lettuce, tomatoes, chick peas, and cheese. After lunch clean up, those who are completing dive certifications dove at Black Forest and Rainbow Canyon and those who are not, snorkeled off the boat and explored the rocky tidal pools on shore. For afternoon snack, the Tintoret crew used some of the plethora of ripe bananas on board to make banana bread, which was then shared with neighboring boats. This energy boost allowed campers to continue the fun late into the early evening! Wake boarding and tubing were a highlight.
Shower time off the stern left everyone feeling refreshed and ready to prepare delicious veggie stir fry for dinner! After dinner, boat cleaning was completed while listening to the DJ of the Day’s tunes. The night ended with a boat meeting during which the daily ships log was written, two truths and a lie was played, and hammocks to sleep in were hung! As one can imagine, sleep came very quickly to the crew members of the Alpha program!
