Fish Form, Function and Physiology (Ocean 2017)
May 30, 2017
I can’t believe five days have flown by already! However, with the amount of activities and fun we have been having, it makes a lot of sense. Today, we started the day off with two dives around Norman Island. Between the two dives, we saw turtles, rays, lobsters and some of the prettiest reef fish I have ever seen.
After lunch, it was actually my turn to be the Skipper of the day and as a first time sailor, I was obviously a little nervous. But with the help and endless laughs of my awesome crew, I felt confident and at ease at the helm. I absolutely loved spending the afternoon “behind the wheel” with my crew. I think this trip is going to make a sailor out of me after all.
After we arrived in Little Harbor, we had a fish form, function, and physiology lesson and basically spent the entire time geeking out about all of our favorite fish. I am really lucky to have ended up with such a fun group of people on our noble steed, Good Times. I feel like I have already learned so much here in the BVI and I am excited to see the rest of the fish, sunsets and good times that comes with these next nine days!
